Matthew 28:11-20 11 Now when they were going, behold, some of the guards came into the city and reported unto the chief priests all the things that were done. 12 And when they were assembled with the elders and had taken counsel, they gave a large sum of money unto the soldiers, 13 saying, "Say ye, `His disciples came by night and stole him away while we slept.' 14 And if this come to the governor's ears, we will persuade him and secure you." 15 So they took the money, and did as they were taught; and this account is commonly reported among the Jews until this day. 16 Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee onto a mountain where Jesus had appointed them. 17 And when they saw Him, they worshiped Him; but some doubted. 18 And Jesus came and spoke unto them, saying,
1 Corinthians 6:12-20 12 "All things are lawful unto me," but all things are not expedient. "All things are lawful for me," but I will not be brought under the power of any. 13 "Meats for the belly, and the belly for meats," but God shall destroy both it and them. Now the body is not for fornication, but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body. 14 And God hath both raised up the Lord and will also raise up us by His own power. 15 Know ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ? Shall I then take the members of Christ and make them the members of a harlot? God forbid! 16 What? Know ye not that he who is joined to a harlot is one body with her? "For two," saith He, "shall be one flesh." 17 But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit. 18 Flee fornication. Every other sin which a man doeth is outside the body, but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body. 19 What? Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you and which ye have from God, and that ye are not your own? 20 For ye are bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's. Judges 2:7-23 7 And the people served the LORD all the days of Joshua, and all the days of the elders who outlived Joshua, who had seen all the great works of the LORD that He did for Israel. 8 And Joshua the son of Nun, the servant of the LORD, died, being a hundred and ten years old. 9 And they buried him in the border of his inheritance in Timnathheres, in the mount of Ephraim, on the north side of the hill Gaash. 10 And also all that generation were gathered unto their fathers, and there arose another generation after them who knew not the LORD nor yet the works which He had done for Israel. 11 And the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the LORD, and served the Baalim. 12 And they forsook the LORD God of their fathers, who brought them out of the land of Egypt, and followed other gods, the gods of the people who were round about them, and bowed themselves unto them, and provoked the LORD to anger. 13 And they forsook the LORD and served Baal and Ashtaroth. 14 And the anger of the LORD was hot against Israel; and He delivered them into the hands of despoilers who despoiled them, and He sold them into the hands of their enemies round about, so that they could not any longer stand before their enemies. 15 Whithersoever they went out, the hand of the LORD was against them for evil, as the LORD had said, and as the LORD had sworn unto them; and they were greatly distressed. 16 Nevertheless the LORD raised up judges, who delivered them out of the hand of those who despoiled them. 17 And yet they would not hearken unto their judges, but they went a whoring after other gods, and bowed themselves unto them. They turned quickly out of the way which their fathers walked in, obeying the commandments of the LORD; but they did not so. 18 And when the LORD raised them up judges, then the LORD was with the judge and delivered them out of the hand of their enemies all the days of the judge; for the LORD was moved to repent because of their groanings by reason of those who oppressed them and vexed them. 19 And it came to pass, when the judge was dead, that they returned and corrupted themselves more than their fathers in following other gods, to serve them and to bow down unto them. They ceased not from their own doings nor from their stubborn way. 20 And the anger of the LORD was hot against Israel; and He said, "Because this people hath transgressed My covenant which I commanded their fathers, and have not hearkened unto My voice, 21 I also will not henceforth drive out any from before them of the nations which Joshua left when he died, 22 that through them I may test Israel, whether they will keep the way of the LORD to walk therein, as their fathers did keep it, or not." 23 Therefore the LORD left those nations without driving them out hastily, neither delivered He them into the hand of Joshua.
