Matthew 26:36-46 36 Then Jesus came with them unto a place called Gethsemane, and said unto the disciples,
37 And He took with Him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and began to be sorrowful and very heavy. 38 Then He said unto them,
39 And He went a little farther, and fell on His face and prayed, saying,
40 And He came unto the disciples and found them asleep, and said unto Peter,
42 He went away again the second time and prayed, saying,
43 And He came and found them asleep again, for their eyes were heavy. 44 And He left them and went away again, and prayed a third time, saying the same words. 45 Then came He to His disciples and said unto them,
1 Corinthians 1:1-19 1 Paul, called to be an apostle of Jesus Christ through the will of God, and Sosthenes our brother, 2 Unto the church of God which is at Corinth, to those who are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all who in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both theirs and ours: 3 Grace be unto you and peace from God our Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ. 4 I thank my God always on your behalf for the grace of God which is given you by Jesus Christ; 5 that in every thing ye are enriched by Him, in all utterance and in all knowledge, 6 even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you, 7 so that ye fall behind in no gift, waiting for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 8 He shall also confirm you unto the end, that ye may be blameless in the Day of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of His Son Jesus Christ our Lord. 10 Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you, but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment. 11 For it hath been reported unto me about you, my brethren, by those who are of the house of Chloe, that there are contentions among you. 12 Now this I say, when every one of you saith, "I am of Paul," and "I of Apollos," and "I of Cephas," and "I of Christ": 13 Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Or were ye baptized in the name of Paul? 14 I thank God that I baptized none of you but Crispus and Gaius, 15 lest any should say that I had baptized in mine own name. 16 And I baptized also the household of Stephanas. Besides, I know not whether I baptized any other. 17 For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the Gospel, and not with the wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of no effect. 18 For the preaching of the cross is foolishness to those who perish; but unto us who are saved, it is the power of God. 19 For it is written:
Deuteronomy 31:14-17a 14 And the LORD said unto Moses, "Behold, thy days approach that thou must die. Call Joshua, and present yourselves in the tabernacle of the congregation, that I may give him a charge." And Moses and Joshua went and presented themselves in the tabernacle of the congregation. 15 And the LORD appeared in the tabernacle in a pillar of a cloud, and the pillar of the cloud stood over the door of the tabernacle. 16 And the LORD said unto Moses, "Behold, thou shalt sleep with thy fathers; and this people will rise up and go a whoring after the gods of the strangers of the land whither they go to be among them, and will forsake Me and break My covenant which I have made with them. 17 Then My anger shall be kindled against them in that day, and I will forsake them, and I will hide My face from them, and they shall be devoured; Deuteronomy 34 1 And Moses went up from the plains of Moab unto the mountain of Nebo, to the top of Pisgah, that is opposite Jericho. And the LORD showed him all the land of Gilead as far as Dan, 2 and all Naphtali, and the land of Ephraim, and Manasseh, and all the land of Judah unto the utmost sea, 3 and the South, and the plain of the Valley of Jericho, the city of palm trees, as far as Zoar. 4 And the LORD said unto him, "This is the land which I swore unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, saying, `I will give it unto thy seed.' I have caused thee to see it with thine eyes, but thou shalt not go over thither." 5 So Moses the servant of the LORD died there in the land of Moab, according to the word of the LORD. 6 And He buried him in a valley in the land of Moab, over against Bethpeor; but no man knoweth of his sepulcher unto this day. 7 And Moses was a hundred and twenty years old when he died; his eye was not dim nor his natural force abated. 8 And the children of Israel wept for Moses in the plains of Moab thirty days; so the days of weeping and mourning for Moses were ended. 9 And Joshua the son of Nun was full of the spirit of wisdom, for Moses had laid his hands upon him. And the children of Israel hearkened unto him, and did as the LORD commanded Moses. 10 And there arose not a prophet since in Israel like unto Moses, whom the LORD knew face to face, 11 in all the signs and the wonders which the LORD sent him to do in the land of Egypt, to Pharaoh and to all his servants and to all his land, 12 and in all that mighty hand, and in all the great terror which Moses showed in the sight of all Israel.
