Scripture Reading for
Common Calendar Year
(beginning January 1st)
Authorized VersionTM NAVTM)
According to the Common Calendar
1 Truly my soul waiteth upon God;
from Him cometh my salvation.
2 He alone is my rock and my salvation;
He is my defense; I shall not be greatly moved.
3 How long will ye conjure mischief against a
man? Ye shall be slain, all of you;
as a bulging wall shall ye be, and as a tottering
4 They consult only to cast him down from his
they delight in lies, they bless with their
mouth, but they curse inwardly.
5 My soul, wait thou only upon God,
for my expectation is from Him.
6 He only is my rock and my salvation;
He is my defense; I shall not be moved.
7 In God is my salvation and my glory;
the rock of my strength and my refuge is in God.
8 Trust in Him at all times, ye people;
pour out your heart before Him; God is a refuge
9 Surely men of low degree are vanity,
and men of high degree are a lie;
if weighed in the balance, they are altogether
lighter than vanity.
10 Trust not in oppression, and put not vain hope
if riches increase, set not your heart upon them.
11 God hath spoken this once, twice have I
that power belongeth unto God.
12 Also unto Thee, O Lord, belongeth mercy,
for Thou renderest to every man according to his
29 And as they departed from Jericho, a great
multitude followed Him. 30 And behold, two blind men were sitting by the wayside
when they heard that Jesus was passing by, and they cried out, saying,
"Have mercy on us, O Lord, Thou Son of David!" 31 And the multitude
rebuked them, that they should hold their peace; but they cried out the more,
saying, "Have mercy on us, O Lord, Thou Son of David!" 32 And Jesus
stood still, and called them and said,
"What will ye that
I shall do unto you?"
33 They said unto Him, "Lord, that our eyes
may be opened." 34 So Jesus had compassion on them and touched their eyes,
and immediately their eyes received sight, and they followed Him.
1 Therefore, being justified by faith, we
have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 2 by whom also we
have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in
hope of the glory of God. 3 And not only so, but we glory in
tribulations also, knowing that tribulation worketh patience; 4 and
patience, experience; and experience, hope; 5 and hope maketh not
ashamed, because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the
Holy Ghost who is given unto us.
6 For when we were yet without strength,
in due time Christ died for the ungodly. 7 For scarcely will one die for
a righteous man, yet perhaps for a good man some would even dare to die.
8 But God commendeth His love toward us in that, while we were yet
sinners, Christ died for us. 9 Much more then, being now justified by
His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him. 10 For if, when we
were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of His Son, much
more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by His life. 11 And not only
that, but we shall also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by
whom we have now received the atonement.
23 "`And if ye will not be reformed by Me
by these things,
but will walk contrary unto Me,
24 then will I also walk contrary unto you,
and will punish you yet seven times for your sins.
25 And I will bring a sword upon you
that shall avenge the quarrel of My covenant;
and when ye are gathered together within your cities
I will send the pestilence among you, and ye shall be delivered into
the hand of the enemy.
26 And when I have broken the staff of your bread,
ten women shall bake your bread in one oven,
and they shall deliver you your bread again by weight;
and ye shall eat and not be satisfied.
27 "`And if ye will not for all this hearken unto Me, but
walk contrary unto Me,
28 then I will walk contrary unto you also in fury; and I, even
I, will chastise you seven times for your sins.
29 And ye shall eat the flesh of your sons,
and the flesh of your daughters shall ye eat.
30 And I will destroy your high places, and cut down your
and cast your carcasses upon the carcasses of your idols; and My
soul shall abhor you.
31 And I will make your cities waste and bring your sanctuaries
and I will not smell the savor of your sweet odors.
32 And I will bring the land into desolation,
and your enemies who dwell therein shall be astonished at it.
33 And I will scatter you among the heathen, and will draw out
a sword after you;
and your land shall be desolate and your cities waste.
34 "`Then shall the land enjoy her
sabbaths, as long as it lieth desolate and ye are in your enemies'
even then shall the land rest and enjoy her sabbaths.
35 As long as it lieth desolate it shall rest,
because it did not rest in your sabbaths when ye dwelt upon
36 And upon them that are left alive of you, I will send a
faintness into their hearts in the lands of their enemies;
and the sound of a shaken leaf shall chase them;
and they shall flee as fleeing from a sword,
and they shall fall when none pursueth.
37 And they shall fall one upon another, as it were before a
sword, when none pursueth;
and ye shall have no power to stand before your enemies.
38 And ye shall perish among the heathen,
and the land of your enemies shall eat you up.
39 And they that are left of you shall pine away in their
iniquity in your enemies' lands;
and also in the iniquities of their fathers shall they pine away
40 "'If they shall confess their iniquity and
the iniquity of their fathers,
with their trespass which they trespassed against Me, and that also
they have walked contrary unto Me,
41 and that I also have walked contrary unto them and have brought
them into the land of their enemies--
if then their uncircumcised hearts be humbled and they then accept
the punishment of their iniquity,
42 then will I remember My covenant with Jacob, and also My covenant
with Isaac, and also My covenant with Abraham will I remember;
and I will remember the land.
43 The land also shall be left by them,
and shall enjoy her sabbaths while she lieth desolate without them;
and they shall accept the punishment of their iniquity,
because, even because they despised My judgments and because their
soul abhorred My statutes.
44 And yet for all that, when they are in the land of their enemies,
I will not cast them away,
neither will I abhor them, to destroy them utterly and to break My
covenant with them;
for I am the LORD their God.
45 But I will for their sakes remember the covenant of their
whom I brought forth out of the land of Egypt in the sight of the
that I might be their God:
I am the LORD.'"
46 These are the statutes and judgments and laws which
the LORD made between Himself and the children of Israel on Mount Sinai
by the hand of Moses.
