The Lectionary According to the Christian Seasons

1 Corinthians 3:16-23

16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? 17 If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy. For the temple of God is holy, and ye are that temple.

18 Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seemeth to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise. 19 For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written: "He taketh the wise in their own craftiness"; 20 and again, "The Lord knoweth the thoughts of the wise, that they are vain." 21 Therefore let no man glory in men. For all things are yours, 22 whether Paul or Apollos or Cephas, or the world or life or death, or things present or things to come -- all are yours, 23 and ye are Christ's, and Christ is God's.

Psalm 24

1 The earth is the LORD'S, and the fullness thereof,
the world and they that dwell therein.
2 For He hath founded it upon the seas,
and established it upon the floods.

3 Who shall ascend onto the hill of the LORD?
Or who shall stand in His Holy Place?
4 He that hath clean hands and a pure heart,
who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully.
5 He shall receive the blessing from the LORD,
and righteousness from the God of his salvation.
6 Such is the generation of them that seek Him,
that seek Thy face, O God of Jacob.

7 Lift up your heads, O ye gates! And be ye lifted up, ye everlasting doors!
And the King of glory shall come in.
8 Who is this King of glory?
The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle.
9 Lift up your heads, O ye gates! Even lift them up, ye everlasting doors!
And the King of glory shall come in.
10 Who is this King of glory?
The LORD of hosts, He is the King of glory.

Words of Worship - Mathew 4:19

19 And He said unto them,

"Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men."

Luke 5:1-11

1 And it came to pass that, as the people pressed upon Him to hear the Word of God, He stood by the Lake of Gennesaret 2 and saw two boats standing by the lake, but the fishermen were gone out of them and were washing their nets. 3 And He entered into one of the boats, which was Simon's, and asked him to put out a little from the land. And He sat down and taught the people from the boat. 4 Now when He was through speaking, He said unto Simon,

"Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draft."

5 And Simon answering said unto Him, "Master, we have toiled all the night and have taken nothing. Nevertheless, at Thy word I will let down the net." 6 And when they had done this, they enclosed a great multitude of fishes, and their net began to break. 7 And they beckoned unto their partners, who were in the other boat, that they should come and help them. And they came and filled both the boats, so that they began to sink. 8 When Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus' knees, saying, "Depart from me, for I am a sinful man, O Lord." 9 For he was astonished, and all those who were with him, at the draft of the fishes which they had taken; 10 and so also were James and John, the sons of Zebedee, who were partners with Simon. And Jesus said unto Simon,

"Fear not. From henceforth thou shalt catch men."

11 And when they had brought their boats to land, they forsook all and followed Him.

Words of Wisdom - Wisdom of Solomon 14:27

For the worshiping of idols not to be named is the beginning, the cause, and the end of all evil.

At the same time came the disciples unto Jesus, saying, "Who is the greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven?" And Jesus called a little child unto Him, and set him in the midst of them, and said,

"Verily I say unto you, unless ye be converted and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the Kingdom of Heaven.
