The Lectionary
According to the Christian Seasons
Proverbs 30:5-9
5 Every word of God is pure;
He is a shield unto them that put their trust in Him.
6 Add thou not unto His words,
lest He reprove thee and thou be found a liar.
7 Two things have I required of Thee;
deny me them not before I die:
8 Remove far from me vanity and lies;
give me neither poverty nor riches; feed me only food sufficient for
me,
9 lest I be full, and deny Thee, and say, "Who is the
LORD?"-
or lest I be poor and steal, and take the name of my God in
vain.
Psalm 119:29, 72, 89, 101, 104, 163
29 Remove from me the way of lying,
and grant me Thy law graciously.
72 The law of Thy mouth is better for me than thousands of gold and
silver.
89 Forever, O LORD, Thy word is settled in heaven.
101 I have restrained my feet from every evil way,
that I might keep Thy word.
104 Through Thy precepts I get understanding;
therefore I hate every false way.
163 I hate and abhor lying, but Thy law do I love.
Words of Worship - Mark 1:15
"The time is fulfilled, and the
Kingdom of God is at hand. Repent ye and believe the Gospel."
Luke 9:1-6
1 Then He called His twelve disciples together, and gave them
power and authority over all devils and to cure diseases. 2 And He sent them to
preach the Kingdom of God and to heal the sick. 3 And He said unto them,
"Take nothing for your
journey, neither staves, nor pack, neither bread, neither money; neither have
two coats apiece. 4 And whatsoever house ye enter into, there abide and thence
depart. 5 And whosoever will not receive you, when ye go out of that city,
shake off the very dust from your feet for a testimony against them."
6 And they departed and went through the towns, preaching the
Gospel and healing everywhere.
Words of Wisdom - Ecclesiasticus 35:20
Mercy is seasonable in the time of affliction,
as clouds of rain in the time of drought.
Jesus Speaks
Morals & Values - Mark 3:24-26
And if a kingdom be
divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. And if a house be
divided against itself, that house cannot stand. And if Satan rise
up against himself and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
