The Lectionary
According to the Christian Seasons
Daniel 7:9-10, 13-14
9 "I beheld till the thrones were cast down, and the
Ancient of Days sat down, whose garment was white as snow and the hair
of His head like the pure wool. His throne was like the fiery flame, and
His wheels as burning fire. 10 A fiery stream issued and came forth
from before Him. Thousand thousands ministered unto Him, and ten
thousand times ten thousand stood before Him: the judgment was set, and
the books were opened.
13 "I saw in the night visions, and behold, one like the
Son of Man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of
Days, and they brought Him near before Him. 14 And there was given
Him dominion and glory and a Kingdom, that all people, nations, and
languages should serve Him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion,
which shall not pass away, and His Kingdom that which shall not be
destroyed.
Psalm 138
1 I will praise Thee with my whole heart;
before the gods will I sing praise unto Thee.
2 I will worship toward Thy holy temple, and praise Thy name for Thy
lovingkindness and for Thy truth,
for Thou hast magnified Thy word above all Thy name.
3 In the day when I cried, Thou answered me,
and strengthened me with strength in my soul.
4 All the kings of the earth shall praise Thee, O LORD,
when they hear the words of Thy mouth.
5 Yea, they shall sing of the ways of the LORD,
for great is the glory of the LORD.
6 Though the LORD be high, yet hath He respect unto the lowly,
but the proud He knoweth afar off.
7 Though I walk in the midst of trouble,
Thou wilt revive me;
Thou shalt stretch forth Thine hand against the wrath of mine
enemies,
and Thy right hand shall save me.
8 The LORD will perfect that which concerneth me;
Thy mercy, O LORD, endureth for ever; forsake not the works of Thine
own hands.
Words of Worship - Psalm 103:21
Bless ye the LORD, all ye His hosts, ye ministers of His, that do His pleasure.
John 1:47-51
47 Jesus saw Nathanael coming to Him, and said of him,
"Behold, an
Israelite indeed, in whom is no guile!"
48 Nathanael said unto Him, "How knowest Thou
me?" Jesus answered and said unto him,
"Before Philip
called thee, when thou wast under the fig tree, I saw thee."
49 Nathanael answered and said unto Him, "Rabbi,
Thou art the Son of God; Thou art the King of Israel." 50 Jesus
answered and said unto him,
"Because I said
unto thee, 'I saw thee under the fig tree,' believest thou? Thou shalt
see greater things than these."
51 And He said unto him,
"Verily, verily I
say unto you, hereafter ye shall see heaven open, and the angels of
God ascending and descending upon the Son of Man."
Words of Wisdom - Wisdom of Solomon 19:22
For in all things, O Lord, Thou didst magnify Thy people and glorify
them;
neither didst Thou lightly regard them, but didst assist them in every time
and place.
Jesus Speaks
Morals & Values - Mark 4:30-32
And He said,
"To what shall we liken the Kingdom of God?
Or with what comparison shall we compare it? It is like a grain of mustard
seed which, when it is sown in the earth, is less than all the seeds that are
in the earth. But when it is sown, it groweth up and becometh greater than
all herbs, and shooteth out great branches, so that the fowls of the air may
lodge under the shadow of it."
